JeffKoenig.com began as an dynamic online version of "the Writing on the Wall". "The Writing on the Wall" was a commodity futures forecasting newsletter. This forecast and strategy work was a key service available to Commodity Management Group clients.
After the birth of our second daughter we decided to seek corporate employment again until we understood our family circumstances better. As a result Commodity Management Group clientele were divided up among several commodity firms and the corporation dissolved in 2001.
Presently, I work for Connell Spend Management, a firm who provides information, consulting and on-demand ingredient sourcing expertise to CPG food manufacturing. Clients can purchase advisory services or outsource an entire purchasing department, including direct and indirect spend. My role in Connell is advisory, sourcing and category management for commodity food ingredients, usually ingredients whose pricing is connected to futures or liquid cash markets.
As a result, I needed to put the old commodity forecasting & futures hedge/trading business away for the moment until a new avenue to practice my craft becomes apparent. Although the destination is presently not clear I expect to enjoy exploration, experimentation, discussion, humor and the life God has given.
