Online Sunderman Project Update

I am pleased to announce that we are starting Phase II of the online Sunderman family tree pilot project. I think that I can speak for all of us that we are excited about the progress that we have accomplished together and excited for the potential that this web application has to offer our family and to enhance the efforts to preserve our family history as a legacy and inspiration to our progeny.

After the application was installed on a webserver and configured (in mid August) we began phase I with a very limited number of key family members who we determined to be key to evaluate the application and eventually support the project. We loaded the initial Sunderman GED database and began to test the basic functionlity of the application to insure everything works satisfactorily and to get general feedback regarding the usability of the application. During this phase we implemented one minor change to the web program.

During Phase II (at least through October) we will expand the number of family viewers and 'Geditors' and continue to gain input on the usability and hopefully to begin to model the team of key family members who will have primary responsibility to serve the family at large on issues like oversee preservation, insuring data quality and being contact points for special projects relating to the archiving and use of our family history.
